So, I uploaded the new stuff here, for testing purposes. You'll need to install the Domains and Markers set for the game to work properly. The changes mostly involve making the various actions more elaborate, to better suit the game's rules. The default action on the deck now draws two cards, special domain cards have been added, and the refresh action now takes insanity into account, as well as clearing your domains.
Now, as for the sets: the card data currently has no separate properties for a card's title, and a card's description. For deck building and uniqueness purposes, only the card's title matters. The card's description serves only to differentiate between different variants. For instance, "Cthulhu, Lord of R'lyeh" and "Cthulhu, The Great Old One" are different cards with different abilities, but since they're unique and have the same title, you can't have both in play at the same time.
The reason the plugin has the two merged, I imagine, is to uniquely identify the card when it's played, since only its name is written to the chat log. This will likely not be an issue in future versions, as scriptable actions should allow for printing any property of a card. Furthermore, I'm not sure there's a point to knowing the exact card played: all's visible on the card image, anyway. For cards without an image, being able to identify them still won't be much help, as you'll need to figure out its properties one way or another.
tl;dr: Separate properties for names and descriptions, yea or nay?

hi, thanks for the converter. It is extremelly usefull, as I have 23.000+ .dec decks to convert. Random lands feat was great & I was actually waiting for the Random Set option, since when you convert 200 decks, it turns into a crazy "Enter" tapping. I think it would be a great feature. thanks & keep it up!!! Ask and you shall receive... Here you go. Keep the input coming. ** Update v0.4.4 - Added a Random Sets option - The list of sets will now be sorted by name (before it was in the order that you installed the sets) ** Update v0.4.3 - Moved the Random Lands options in the options panel. - Added a Always Rename option in the options panel - For cards other than lands, if will now remember the previous card you selected http://www.mediafire.com/file/nqog33ija628s6g/DeckConverter%20v0.4.4.zip |

Just to confirm the sets we are missing are Secrets of Arkham, Whispers in the Dark, Murmurs of Evil, and The Spoken Covenant. Any others? Everything up to the Dreamlands AP is done, so yes, that should be all. Also is this card size sufficient for the images? Yep, 300x415 is the resolution for all cards. I'm not sure what you mean by multiple images, though: the deck builder pyyhttu linked to has the card faces covered, I was only missing a high-quality scan for the LCG card backs. |

Having every action accessible from context menus is all well and good, until you go above a dozen or so actions. Then things start getting rather cluttered. The thing is, sometimes you really do want to have that many actions defined. For instance, it can be useful to have shortcuts that let you immediately jump to one of the million phases/sub-phases in Magic. The possible ideas I had in mind to solve this problem were the following:
- let some actions be defined as hidden, that do not show up in context menus, only accessible through shortcuts. Maybe have an option that toggles their display somewhere. - allow definition of sub-menus that can contain actions. Aside from hiding less used options in a sub-menu, this could also be a way to group actions together where it makes sense. Using the example above, you would have a "Jump To Phase" sub-menu containing actions that jump to every individual phase. Thoughts? |

I actually have all the information already entered into a database and it shouldn't be too much trouble to get it to spit out a formatted XML file. Just a plain old Excel file (well, OpenOffice spreadsheet, actually) would be better, as that'd probably be easier to update with changes. Also, there's two XML files you'd need to generate if wanted to generate things in the format OCTGN accepts right away. But ultimately, it doesn't make a difference, I can probably handle the conversions to and from various formats. As for the GUIDs, don't worry about them. As long as they're in the semi-standard format as seen here, they should be good. |

you're going to have to reinstall ALL of the files, because OCTGN is looking for them in a location that no longer exists. By reinstalling it, you're updating the "master" list that tells OCTGN where all the files are stored.

I asked originally because I'd just have to generate the GUID which I don't have for those sets. I don't really have the time to maintain the plugin though so if it is OK with PKT I can just email him all the info to get everything caught up if it is ok with everyone that I assign the GUIDs to those sets which haven't been done yet.

Quote The card data seems to be compressed and/or encrypted, though, so I might have to type in all the card data manually. Or just ask Nyarlazorbec about it, see if I can save myself the hassle. If he won't help you, then you may want to check the boardgamegeek site for cthulhu lcg, as I remember it having some sort of excel sheets. They may be an easier source to scrape. Quote While we're at it, you wouldn't happen to know where I could get a decent scan of the card backs and the game board? I sort-of have both covered, but I'm not quite satisfied with their quality. Can't help you with that, sorry. And I haven't bumped into decent ones either. I believe you should orient to scan and process these by yourself in the end if you want better quality. |
